BATTERY REPLACEMENT
(Q) I am in search of
a manual for my Trivia Whiz (2nd Edition) cocktail game. It keeps asking
the same questions, and I am hoping a DIP-switch or battery might help keep this
from happening. If it is the battery, do you know what it looks
like? Is it like a button or like a small, sawed-off double-AA?
(A) The 3-volt lithium battery is probably dead and
will have to be replaced. This will cause the questions to repeat every
time the game is turned off. The battery is about ½ inch in diameter and
one inch long. There is a lead on each end soldered onto the board and it
is partially hidden by the CRT 205 memory expansion board. "B1" is printed on
the board next to the battery.
(Q) I am in the process of updating Megatouch MAXX to the Diamond Edition V6.00. I am having a lot of trouble removing the adhesive on the cabinets with the Formica sides--it is smearing the glue, making it worse.
(A) Once you have removed the existing decal, remove any remaining adhesive
with an adhesive remover. Make sure not to get any adhesive removing
solvents or solutions on the touchscreen, as they may damage it. When you
are finished removing any excess adhesive from the game, wipe the surface with
alcohol solvent. The surface must be clean and free from dirt for a new
decal to adhere properly.

(Q) I was thinking about buying a machine and was wondering how to do
it? (A) Our games are sold through authorized AMI distributors. See our
Web page for a list of distributors to find one near you in order to purchase a
game.
(Q) I really enjoy your games. Can these games be purchased for use on
a PC? If not, would you ever consider making them available for the
consumer market? (A) The Megatouch games are not designed for the home PC, but please check
our Web site periodically for our latest products and developments. If you
would like to purchase a game for home use, please contact one of the AMI
Distributors listed on the Web site. One of our latest products, Megatouch
Gametime, is a new model specifically designed for home use. If you cannot find a Distributor near
you, please supply us with your address and we will be happy to direct
you. (Q) I was looking at the XL 6000 manual online and I noticed the game MGA
Golf in the game list. Is this game on the XL 6000 or
XLGold? (A) MGA Golf is not available on any Megatouch XL program due to limitations
of the 486 motherboard. All the MAXX programs have the MGA Golf
game. You can convert your XL6000 by purchasing an XL to MAXX conversion
kit (KUV-107-043-01) through your local AMI Distributor. MGA Golf would
then be included on your game.
(Q) I just received both Force 2002 and Force 2002 Point 5 games from my
distributor. Is there a difference between the two? (A) For the most part, the difference between Force 2002 and Force 2002 Point
5 is the changing of Trivia Q & A and, photos, (new Photo Hunt and related
photo games). You should be able to get the V9.0 update CD through your
distributor at no charge. (Q) I own a Megatouch III and would like to know what’s involved in adding
new games to my machine. (A) Sorry, there are no more updates for CRT-260 games. (Q)
I have two Vibes with the 2003.5 software. Will any 2004 software and later
work? (A)
Any later Force software will be compatible with Vibe.
(Q) Do you sell your products to the general public? If so, how can I go about obtaining pricing and sales information?
(A) AMI Entertainment manufactures games and only sells to distributors. Please check our web site for a distributor near you.
(Q) I have a Midway Infinity (hard drive based) countertop machine. I'd like to upgrade to your system; specifically, a lot of people ask me about a game called Word Dojo. Is this possible to upgrade?
(A) There is a an upgrade kit for the Midway. The upgrade is for Midway games with a hard drive. The kit has a Unicorn Electronics Tray assembly, electronic coin rejecter harness, Ruby security and Ruby2 CDs. The AMI part number is KUV-109-007. You will need to contact an authorized AMI distributor for price and purchase of the kit. You can find a list of our distributors on our Web page www.amientertainment.com.
(Q) I just traded in my MAXX counter top for a new Force Radion and found that Trip Flip is not part of the software package. Was this discontinued or can it be downloaded into our system?
(A) Trip Flip is included in the software package. It is disabled in the default game menu. Follow these instructions to enable all games:
Force 2002:
Press the SETUP button.
Touch Games to enter the Games Menu.
Touch Enable All.

MANUALS
(Q) I have a Megatouch 6000 and I am trying to view the
manual from your Web site, but get an error message and can’t view it. Can
you help me? (A) To view the file, you need Acrobat Reader. To download Acrobat
Reader, go to http://www.adobe.com/ (Q) Are there any owner’s manuals available for purchase? (A) Yes, we do have owner’s manuals
available. If you supply
your mailing address and type of machine, we will be happy to send it to
you.
(Q) How do I get a manual for a Megatouch XL? (A) See the "Manuals" section of the Support Center on our Web site. You
will be able to download and print the PDF file of the manual you need.
To view the file, you need Acrobat Reader. To download
Acrobat Reader, go to http://www.adobe.com/.
(Q) I was interested in buying an XL 6000 and was wondering if it had the
game Photo Hunt or where I could find a listing of all of the games on each
system. Let me know when you have a chance. (A) The game list is in the XL 6000 manual, which is available on our Web
site. Go to the Support Center, then Manuals, and select Megatouch XL and click the link for
the XL 6000 manual. (Q) I purchased a used Megatouch Gold game and need to know what type of
Manual to download. Which model is most similar? (A) The XL6000 manual will work. There are no real differences in the
options or settings, other than that the Gold has more games than the XL6000.
(Q) I am looking for manuals/part number listings for various AMI games.
I am particularly interested in identifying part numbers for fans, cables,
power supplies, etc. to decrease downtime for my machines, as well as other
customers with whom I am charged with maintaining. (A) You should be able to find everything you need in the Support Center/Part Information section of the AMI Web site.
(Q)
I have an old Pit Boss Superstar coin op machine. I don't have a manual and need
to know how to get to the control menu. Can you help? Is there a manual or any
information available for this game? (A)
The program number is needed in order to send a manual. There should be two
buttons: setup and books. The setup button should allow you to make changes to
the program. (Q)
I was wondering if you knew of any place that I could get the paperwork for an
older machine. It is a Chicken Draw Poker Machine and I believe it was made in
1985, but not exactly sure. (A)
The
term Chicken Draw Poker was used on the CRT-100 boards and on some CRT-200
boards, but without the program number there is no way to determine what paper
you need or whether it's still available. Try pressing the Books button. This
may display version of software number. (Q)
Why can’t I see or download the newest Tech Service Manual for
XL’s/Force/eVo’s? (A)
You will have problems viewing the manuals if you do not have Adobe Reader
installed on your computer. To download the program for free, go to www.adobe.com (Q) I have heard that it is possible to update a TouchMaster to the AMI
MAXX level, but that it requires changing the monitor. Is this indeed
possible and what is involved? (A) The TouchMaster Infinity 8000 by Midway can be updated to the AMI MAXX
level. The kit has a new power supply and motherboard, security key, and
CDs to update the hard drive, as well as instructions and side stickers.
You may use the VGA monitor that is already in the game. See
the "Kit Cross Reference" on our Web site under Tech Center/FAQ's/Upgrading
Information.
(Q) Do you have a software upgrade for the Midway TouchMaster
7000? (A) The Infinity to MAXX kit we offer is for TouchMaster Infinity 8000 games,
which are hard drive-based. The TouchMaster 7000 is chip-based, so the
Infinity to MAXX kit will not work in this case.
(Q) I would like to know what models of Touchmaster games can be upgraded to
AMI software. (A) The Infinity Touchmaster is the only Midway game that can be updated with
the Infinity to MAXX kit. If you’re not sure which Touchmaster you have,
check to see if the game has a hard drive. If there is a hard drive, then
the game can be updated to the MAXX Sapphire level with the kit.
(Q) How do I enable tournament play on my Megatouch games?
(A) We have a Tournamaxx kit that will have to be installed in your games to become part of the tournament. The registration forms are included with the kit.
For games with Emerald 2 software, the kit part number is KUV-108-112-01.
For games with Force 2002.5 software, the kit part number is KUV-111-001-01.
You can purchase these kits directly from our customer service department at
(800) 445-9353 between 8AM and 5:00PM (EST).
(Q) I was wondering if prizes are awarded for the new Tournamaxx games.
(A) Tournamaxx is an ego-based ranking system with a customized operator
promotion level. Prizes and awards are at the discretion of the
operator.
(Q) I recently purchased six Force 2002 machines. How do I connect them
together so they can play the head-to-head games? Do I need a specific
cable?
(A) The Force game Head2Head is software and touchscreen related. H2H
player allows two people to play the same game at the same time. The
linking can be done, but has nothing to do with H2H play. In order to link
the game you need two link kits, part number KUV-108-004-03.
(Q) Can MAXX Emerald have tournament capabilities between bars? And can
it be monitored online? (A) Tournamaxx is not designed for location to location play. The
Tournamaxx system calls in at a set time to upload scores from that day and
download scores from the other games involved with Tournamaxx. The games
can only be observed or monitored by the operator or vendor involved with
Tournamaxx. (Q) If I am running a contest for 30 days, how would the rounds or hands come
into play? What would I set them for? (A) When the rounds or hands are set for "4", the player will get to play
four hands of Tri Towers and the scores from those four games will be added
together to get the final score. When the rounds are set for "3", they
will get three hands of Tri Towers to get the final score, etc. You can
set the rounds to a setting you think is fair for the price you have set for a
tournament game.
(Q) I have a brand new Force Radion game. What do I need to get online with the Tournaments? There is no mention of them in the manual.
(A) In order to get online with your game, you will need to purchase a Tournamaxx Force kit (KUV-111-001-01) for your game directly through AMI Customer Service. See our Web site for more Tournamaxx information.
(Q) Is it possible to disable Tournamaxx so it won’t try to make a call for special occasions like rentals?
(A) If the time is disabled, it will stop the game from trying to call in. To disable the time:
Press the SETUP button.
Touch the SYSTEM SETTINGS button.
Touch the Tournamaxx button.
Touch the DIAL-UP NETWORK button.
Touch the ACTIVE TIME button (the highlighted red box).
Exit all the way out of setup.
To reactivate the time, go through the procedure again and touch the TIME box that is needed for the game to call in. This will not affect the Tournamaxx tournament that is running.
(Q) Is there a way to download the tourney info on to a media card and move it to an updated game?
(A) There are no media cards available that will store TournaMaxx information.
(Q) Do you sell used coin-op machines?
(A) We only
sell to authorized AMI Distributors. Distributor information is
available on our Web site, but we will be happy to direct you to a Distributor
if you supply us with your address. The Distributor may or may not carry
used machines, but they will be able to direct you further.
VIDEO BILLBOARD - ADVERTISING SCREENS
(Q) Can another advertising screen be added to a Blue MAXX, e.g., screen "1" (via flash card) if there is already one saved as screen "0"?
(A) Information on adding additional
advertising screens to a MAXX game is available from our Web site.
Click Support and then Software Downloads. Find your software version for the advertising screens download.
It will explain what is needed and how to install the screen on your game.
(Q) I have a Diamond Edition Megatouch machine and need to know how to add the advertisements to flash between games. Is there any written information on this?
(A) You are referring to the Video Billboard. Press the SETUP button, which will take you into a screen with about ten buttons. Touch the SYSTEM SETTINGS button and there you will find the Video Billboard button. For more information, go to the Advertising Screens FOR Force and MAXX software section under Software Downloads on our Web site.
(Q) I was wondering if a owner of a Megatouch Ruby game is able to change the announcements on the game and how is this done.
(A) The announcements will display the Video Billboard screens. There are 6 screens you can use for the Video Billboard. Four of the screens are accessed by pressing the SETUP button, then touching the SYSTEM button. A game running Ruby software will have a VIDEO BILLBOARD button; on Ruby 2 games, the VIDEO BILLBOARD button appears under the PRESENTATION button. Two other screens are accessed through the 6 Star Enable feature. You can turn on the SIX STAR ENABLE feature by pressing the SETUP button, then SYSTEM, and then OPTIONS.
(Q) I recently purchased the eVo for my home and would like to personalize the 'Home' screen as my own 'screen saver'. I've looked through the manuals and cannot find any directions. Can you help?
(A) Adding a screen saver cannot be done, but there is a feature called Video Billboard (VBB) or also called Operator Ad Screens, which has a similar effect.
Press the SETUP button.
Touch the button PRESENTATION, touch OPERATOR AD SCREEN button.
This will take you into the OPERATOR AD SCREEN. This screen is used by operators for promotional or messages.
