Windows 95/98 Download Instructions
Click on the link(s) above.
Select "Save this program to disk" and click "OK." The "Save As" dialog box is displayed.
You may want to create a directory on your hard drive to store all of your program upgrade files. If so, follow the directions below for creating a directory in Windows 95/98.
Select the desired directory, where you want to save the file, and click "SAVE."
Loading the file on a Maxx PC Card
- Make sure the PC card is completely empty before trying to load a file on the card.
- Open Windows Explorer.
- In the left pane, click on the directory where you saved the program upgrade file.
- Locate the program upgrade file in the right pane (e.g. "cdupdate.exe").
- Double-click on the file.
- A dialog box appears, asking where you want to extract the file to.
- Enter the drive letter for your Maxx PC Card reader/writer and press ENTER or click "OK".
- Wait for message saying "X FILES UNZIPPED SUCCESSFULLY." Note: Depending on your computer, this may take several minutes.
- Close the open dialog box by clicking the "X" in the upper, right-hand corner.
- Shut down your system to ensure that all files are competely copied to the Maxx PC Card. Note: This may not be necessary on your system. If you are unsure, shut down the computer.
- Remove the Maxx PC Card from the read/write unit.
- Turn on your computer (if desired).
Loading the file onto your Maxx Game
- Turn off the game.
- Open the game lid and remove the lid from the electronics box (to access the I/O board).
- Insert the Maxx PC card into a PC slot on the I/O board.
- Turn on the game.
- When the "Strike any key when ready..." message appears on the monitor, turn off the game.
- Remove the Maxx PC card.
- Replace the lid to the electronics box.
- Close the game lid.
- Turn on the game.
Creating a Directory in Windows 95/98
  
- Open Windows Explorer.
- Select the C:/ drive (or other drive, if desired).
- Select NEW, FOLDER from the FILE pull-down menu.
- Enter a name for the new directory (e.g. Merit Downloads)
